CHI's parent company Farouk Systems Inc. has secured a U.S. patent for its LG CHI Color Master Factory, an in-salon digital lab that provides exact formulas and techniques for more than 30K hair color shades, along with color accuracy technology.
To obtain a patent, the invention must be “new, or ‘novel’ (something not done before)” according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
“We are honored to receive this patent for our LG CHI Color Master Factory," says Dr. Farouk Shami, the company’s chairman and founder, who calls the device a combination of “advanced American technology with cutting-edge innovation.”
The in-salon digital lab is formulated to streamline and facilitate hair color customization, while reducing product and packaging waste. Its technology includes sensors, algorithms, and quality control measures to regulate variables such as pigment concentration, temperature, and curing time. It also maintains client color records.
CHI artists recently released a collection, Rouge de CHI, to showcase hair colors created with the LG CHI Color Master Factory.
